celebrity plastic surgery

Nowadays famous actor, actress or singer are going for plastic surgery to look more beauty and a nice face and body shape.

When we think of celebrities plastic surgery and going under the knife, Michael Jackson is first on the list, but right below him there are many more celebrities. Some to name who have had rhinoplasty include, Salma Hayek, Ashlee Simpson, Winona Ryder, and even Halle Berry. But it doesn't stop with the nose; it extends to the even more popular breast augmentation. I just wonder how it only looks disgusting to some people that so many woman movie stars have breasts that look as hard as a rock and as big as a coconut.

They call tattoos on women on the lower back right above the rear a tramp stamp…what should they call women with fake breasts, the twin tramp stamp? With so many celebrities who want plastic surgery, who have had plastic surgery, and the faces and bodies we will notice that are soon to have plastic surgery, the celebrities will never let the public down no matter what it takes, even if it means going from white skin to black.

The movie starlets with fake boobs include such stars as Britney Spears, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson, Shannon Elizabeth, Tiffany-Amber Theissan, Mariah Carey, Lindsay Lohan, Carmen Electra, Demi Moore, Denise Richards, Vivica A. Fox, Christina Aguilera, Tara Reid, Torri Spelling and the list could go on forever! What ever happened to Good Ol' Natural?

celebrity plastic surgery a rise in Britian

The following paragraphs summarize the work of celebrity plastic surgery experts who are completely familiar with all the aspects of celebrity plastic surgery. Heed their advice to avoid any celebrity plastic surgery surprises.

Celebrity obsession and television makeover shows are fuelling a rise in cosmetic surgery in Britain, researchers said on Thursday.

Bigger breasts, wrinkle-free skin and face-lifts are top of people's wish lists.

Acceptance of cosmetic surgery is growing Television coverage and the popularity of procedures amongst celebrities (have) invariably played a key role."
Easier access to treatment has eroded the "mystique factor" to the point where a quarter of women and one in 10 men would consider going under the knife.

The market will be worth 659 million pounds in 2007, more than the amount Britain spends on tea, according to the report.

The most popular treatments last year were Botox injections to iron out wrinkles and chemical peels which take off the top layer of skin to try to give a smoother look.

How many celebrities have had plastic surgery

So what is celebrity plastic surgery really all about? You will begin to realize that there's more to celebrity plastic surgery than you may have first thought.

How many celebrities have had plastic surgery? Virtually every single one. Some will deny it until death while others have no problem facing up to it. After all, when your breasts are suddenly shaped like two perfectly rounded cushions, the public will likely put two and two together.

Now I'm sure everyone is aware of Michael Jackson's undying obsession with plastic surgery. The discolored King of Pop has had more nose jobs than all of Hollywood put together.
What kind of plastic surgery has the Armenian diva undergone? Well how about a breast enlargement, nose job(s), cheek implants, tummy tuck, butt-lift, face-lift, and liposuction? I guess when you're rich, you stop wanting to be you
But getting back to those too much too far cases, one wonders that if Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey had to accept career ruination because her nose job made her beautiful but unrecognizable, what would the rest of us average Josephine's do if we hated what the surgeon did to us?

Changes our appearance with plastic surgery

When you think about celebrity plastic surgery, what do you think of first? Which aspects of celebrity plastic surgery are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

If you want to improve and change your appearance but do not want to wait till you lose weight,to go through and recover from plastic surgery. celebrity plastic surgery : Did Ashlee Simpson Have Plastic Surgery?

When Ashlee Simpson screwed up on Saturday Night Live in October 2004, she tried to save face with a lame excuse. She claimed to be suffering from acid reflux, which she said prevented her from singing without the help of a karaoke machine.

Nick Lachey's ex-sister-in-law will now have to come up with a similarly lame excuse for why her face looks totally different from April to May of 2006. While it's painfully obvious to the naked eye that she had a nose job, she has remained mum on the subject. Maybe she can use seasonal allergies as an excuse for needing to surgically clear out those nasal passages.

celebrity plastic surgery : Did Cindy Crawford Have Plastic Surgery?

Supermodel Cindy Crawford always looks fabulous and at the age of 40, her fans are wondering just how she stays that way. While stars like Ashlee Simpson and Teri Hatcher continue to deny having had any plastic surgery, Cindy Crawford admits to taking some help.

The gorgeous wife and mother of two has said that potions and lotions will only get you so far when it comes to beauty. Cindy told Gala magazine, "I'm not going to lie to myself: past a certain age, creams work on the texture of your skin. In order to restore elasticity, all I can really count on is vitamin injections, Botox and collagen. I owe the quality of my skin to a cosmetic surgeon." Well folks, there you have it in black and white.

You have to respect that kind of candor in this industry.

celebrity plastic surgery : Did Teri Hatcher Have Plastic Surgery?

Celebrity Plastic Surgery
Celebrities are usually tight lipped about whether or not they've had any plastic surgery done on their faces. Teri Hatcher, known for her role in Desperate Housewives, decided to open up about that very subject in a recent magazine interview.
Ageless Beauty

At the age of 41, the former Lois and Clark star looks absolutely fabulous. She has access to the best skin care specialists and uses the finest products available. Teri appears to be almost 10 years younger than her real age. In pictures, her flawless face shows barely a sign of a wrinkle.

Teri's Skin Secret

In the March 2006 issue of Glamour magazine, Teri admits to a little help from her doctor.

In the past, I've had Botox and collagen, but I haven't had anything done in over a year," she claimed. She goes on to say that it's okay to have wrinkles as you age and that she's not trying to look 25.
Truly Natural?

Generally, the results of Botox only last for about 3 months. After that, the lines and wrinkles are almost sure to make a comeback. That leaves skeptics wondering how Teri's skin remains perfect despite having avoided any help in over a year. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

celebrity plastic surgery : Gone Bad

When it comes to celebrity plastic surgery in Hollywood, often the stars just don't know when to quit. They become more addicted with every new procedure and a few even try to deny it. It's painfully obvious to us that celebrities like Star Jones have been nipped and tucked, but do some of them need to find new doctors? Check out these awful celebrity plastic surgeries.

Cher
Cher hit it big on the airwaves in 1998 with her hit song "If I Could Turn Back Time". Judging by these photos, the singer and actress is struggling to do just that. At 60, Cher has clearly helped to keep her plastic surgeon in high cotton!

Vivica A.Fox
Vivica A. Fox, star of the Kill Bill movies and former flame of rapper 50 Cent, needs to find herself a new plastic surgeon. In these candid photos, her horrible implants look like they've taken on a life of their own.

Star Jones
Star Jones, co-host of The View has always denied rumors that she lost her weight through gastric bypass surgery. She did admit to being nipped and tucked in March 2006, but only so that she could whine and complain about all the complications that followed.

Nikki Cox
Nikki Cox, star of the hit drama Las Vegas and new fiance of actor Jay Mohr has proven that she is unable to make good choices. First, she dated comedian Bob Goldthwait in the 90's, someone who we all know she was way too hot for. Now it seems she doesn't know when to stop when it comes to collagen injections.

Michael Jackson
You wouldn't dream of writing about celebrities who have had terrible plastic surgeries without including the King of Pop himself. We have painfully watched as Michael Jackson went from a normal looking black boy to a freakish white man . Can you believe he even allegedly reproduced children?

celebrity plastic surgery : Awful Plastic Surgery

The Ugliest Breasts In Hollywood
Pretty hair, pretty makeup, pretty dress, and ugly stretch marks on your chest from a bad boob job. Kate Beckinsale wins 'The Ugliest Breasts In Hollywood Award'. Those stretch marks on her breasts are pretty horrendous. There's not much of a natural hang or sag to them, the pair sit up too high on her chest.

Victoria Beckham, best known as Poshspice, has one of the worst looking breast implant jobs in the celebrity world. They look like the halves of a cantaloupe stuffed into her chest. Victoria, you are not fooling anyone! She should have gone with a small size.

Like Susan Ward, Vivica Fox has gotten breast implants. Unfortunately, they have hardened and now look like grapefruit halves stuffed in her chest.

The mystery of Lindsay Lohan's shrinking breasts has already been explored, but further revelations (courtsey of Lindsay's stylist) show that not only do her breasts appear smaller, there is a small weird dent under one of her boobs (Does the other one have a dent? Maybe photos shot from the other side will surface.) Could the origins of this odd scarring be surgical in natural?

She got them fairly recently, after getting a breast lift about a year and a half ago. My suggestion is that she not wear any outfits that put pressure on her breasts because it makes them look fake.

celebrity plastic surgery : Sophia Loren voted World's Most Naturally Beautiful?

Scotsman.com features a story about Sophia Loren indicating that she has been "voted the world's most naturally beautiful person, beating younger beauties including Cameron Diaz to the title."

Maybe they didn't know about these pictures I found online. They seem to show post-facelift changes below the chin. Also having no jowl at all at 71 is pretty unlikely.

Add Sophia to the list of the women who denounce plastic surgery and then probably have surgery themselves.

celebrity plastic surgery : On a knife-edge

BY THIS time next year, it is estimated that the British will be spending more on cosmetic surgery than they do on tea - that's a cool £659 million being used to tuck tummies, enlarge breasts, smooth wrinkles and a whole lot more. Once upon a time, plastic surgery was the sole preserve of the rich and famous, performed at discreet clinics and talked about only in hushed tones. Today, going under the knife is as ordinary as having a cuppa.

It's all very well being told to love the skin you're in, but when that skin droops, sags and wrinkles, isn't it reasonable to take action against the ravages of time? Recent research from Mintel found that British consumers will undergo an estimated 690,000 cosmetic surgery procedures this year alone. That's an increase of 40% on the 493,000 carried out last year, and 240% on 2001's figure.

Switch on your television any night of the week and you're likely to come across a TV show dedicated to cosmetic surgery, be it Extreme Makeover, Nip/Tuck or 10 Years Younger. Magazines are filled with cosmetically enhanced celebs, and everyone knows someone who has had Botox.

The concept of growing old gracefully grows more dated by the minute, with Scots eagerly joining the trend - in a new survey by Paperboy, Scotsman.com's daily news e-mail service, almost two-thirds of respondents said that they would definitely consider having plastic surgery.

As for what they would have done, the top three procedures were a face lift (23.5%), a nose job (23.5%) and an eye lift (20.6%), while being able to afford it was the main reason why people would consider going under the knife (42.3%). A third of respondents said they would be willing to pay up to £5,000 for an operation and 15.4% would be willing to get into debt to pay for plastic surgery.

When asked what they would buy if they could make a major purchase right now, plastic surgery was an extremely popular choice, beaten only by a holiday or a new car. These figures suggest that far from being something outwith the realms of mere mortals, plastic surgery is now seen by many of us as both desirable and attainable.

So why are more people opting for cosmetic procedures? Is it due to the terrible pressure of living in a society obsessed with youth? Is it because the face looking back at you in the mirror doesn't represent the person within? Or is it because someone gave you a gift voucher for Christmas, along with the promise that gravity can be defied? "Acceptance of cosmetic surgery is growing within the British psyche," says Mintel's Jenny Catlin. "Exposure to, and desensitising of, cosmetic surgery through television coverage and the popularity of procedures among celebrities has inevitably played a key role."

The Mintel study found that most Britons are still cautious of procedures that involve a scalpel, with 85% of the market being made up of non-surgical procedures such as chemical peels and Botox injections. In financial terms, face and neck surgery accounts for the greatest percentage of sales, at £108 million, with breast surgery coming a close second, at £100 million. "Facial surgery continues to attract the greatest spend, as the face is not only the focal point of appearance, it is also typically the primary victim of the ageing process," says Catlin.

celebrity plastic surgery : Changing the new you

On any given day in Hollywood you can throw a stick and hit 10 people who've had something "done."

Be it a nose job, boob job or something injected, it's de rigueur for Tinseltown's elite to enhance their already above-average attributes.

So accustomed are we to the ups and downs of celebrity surgical interventions that guessing which star had what procedure has become a sort of sport — Ashlee Simpson's nose job is the latest to join the roster.

We've become armchair experts, weighing in with the tabloids on who's had too much — can Nicole even act with so little expression in her face? And who's gone too far — Star Jones anyone?

The notion of second-guessing, "Oh, gosh, don't Ms Starlet's breasts look bigger or is it just a push-up bra like her public relations flack says it is?" seems downright old-fashioned. It's amazing any star would bother denying they nipped, tucked, botoxed or enlarged.

But it isn't just for the rich and famous. Chances are someone you know has had a little work done. (If you can't tell, then they had a skilled surgeon.) The latest statistics compiled by Medicard Finance Inc., a company that offers financial assistance for medical procedures

But getting back to those too much too far cases, one wonders that if Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey had to accept career ruination because her nose job made her beautiful but unrecognizable, what would the rest of us average Josephine's do if we hated what the surgeon did to us?

"For any given procedure, be it in the face, liposuction or augmentation, there is potential that things don't heal the way it was envisioned and a revision surgery will be necessary," says Dr. Ali Adibfar, a Toronto surgeon whose résumé includes dentistry and oral surgery as well as plastic surgery.

Dr. Steve Mulholland, a Toronto cosmetic surgeon frequently seen on television administering the latest youth-defying technique, says, "A well-trained surgeon can fix up their own complications. The only downside is a delay in the patients `look good time.'"

celebrity plastic surgery : THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN

Thirty years ago, cosmetic plastic surgery wasn't a topic of everyday conversation. It was still somewhat foreign to the public at large, something primarily done by the very wealthy and not discussed much, by them or anyone else.

Michael Jackson, version 4.0.

Now plastic surgery is front and center, not just in the celebrity universe, but in the everyday world. Tummy tucks, face-lifts, breast augmentations: People know a lot about them and aren't hesitating to have them done - Pueblo residents included. In 2005, $12.4 billion was spent on elective cosmetic procedures, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Ninety-one percent of those procedures were performed on women.

Here's one bit of information about the term itself: "plastic surgery" comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means to mold or give form.

Drs. Donald Luebke, Charles Kessler and Philip Marin, Pueblo's three plastic surgeons, all said that the increasing publicity about cosmetic surgery means people who come in for consultations already have gathered plenty of information.

"Most patients are well-read and have a fairly good database of knowledge," said Marin. “(Media exposure) desensitized the American population. They understand the process, so it creates a level of acceptance."

Marin said the baby-boomer population, in particular, is driving the plastic surgery trend.

"They're wanting to work longer and are competing with younger people," he said. "That in itself has increased the number of procedures nationwide."

Locally, breast augmentation and liposuction are the most common procedures; abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, and eyelid surgery are two other popular choices.

"I did my first implant 30 years ago," said Luebke, who's been practicing in Pueblo since 1979.

Silicone implants were the norm until the early ’90s, when problems arose with them. For now, surgeons use saline-filled implants, but a new, redesigned silicone version - already used for breast reconstruction in cancer patients - is expected to be approved for all surgeries soon.

"It's a cohesive gel implant. It doesn't leak; you can actually cut it in half. They call it the gummy-bear implant," said Luebke.

Another relatively new feature is adjustable implants. Several ounces of air can be added or removed through a tiny valve, which is eventually removed.

Kessler said he's seen an increase in the number of young women who want implants, but middle-aged patients are still more common.

"Usually, they've had children and now want to have something done, either an augmentation or something to correct sagging," he said.

JoAnn Schlegel, the clinic supervisor for Drs. Kessler and Marin (who share an office), is a nurse and has worked for plastic surgeons for 25 years. She's also been a patient. Her first procedure was rhinoplasty (nose job), then eyelid work and finally, in 1985, breast implants.

Schlegel said she's happy with the results of all three surgeries, but has one emphatic piece of advice for anyone thinking about cosmetic surgery.

"It's something you have to do for yourself, not anybody else," she said.

celebrity plastic surgery : I swear they're real

Speaking of Anderson, who does Pamela think she's kidding? She went from a B-cup to double Ds and then down to a firm-as-terra C-cup. And when I say firm, I mean you could bounce quarters off these contraptions.

Among the women who vow that their breasts are real are supermodel Tyra Banks and, of course, Britney Spears. After Britney went into the hospital for a "knee operation," the healing process miraculously spawned boobs for the teen sensation.

It's still a debate whether her breasts are real, fake or enhanced with that illusion-powered Wonderbra thingamajig. I'm sure that every guy is familiar with the bra that's filled with padding or water or something along those lines, then once it's removed, what you thought you were getting ends up in the bra and what you're left with is a pair of itsy-bitsy teeny-weenies.

celebrity plastic surgery : Celebrities and Breast Size

The obsession over cosmetic perfection and, more recently, breast size, has sparked a rash of Hollywood "upsizing" in the breast department. Who's natural, what cup size are they, and who's had breast surgery? The answers may or may not be surprising. In other words, you might be shocked at just how much a push up bra can deceive to the tune of 1,2 and even three cup sizes!

Celebrities - How they Influence What We Want in a Breast Size

What determines the size of a full grown woman's breasts? Is it primarily environmental or outside influences, or is it all "in the genes"? The final size of a woman's mature breasts is mostly determined by heredity and can range from very small AA cups to very full EE cups. Breast size varies greatly among women, but the average breast size is a B cup, and all sizes and shapes are normal and healthy, although they may not fit the conventional idea of breast beauty.

For some reason, probably the increasing popularity of breast augmentation surgery and the overwhelming number of female celebrities who are considered sexy who have this breast size, the common perception today is that the perfect breast size is a C cup. See some famous celebrity breast sizes below, and you'll see these famous women are as diverse as the rest of us. Although they may all look like they have C cups in the movies or in videos, you'll see what they've really got without the padding, underwire and inserts!

celebrity plastic surgery : Does Their Cup Truly Runneth Over?

Jennifer Lopez breast size: Modest B cup

Angelina Jolie breast size : C cup : Hate to break it to you, but these are probably real. Yes, she is genetic perfection in the form of a waif thin body and large breasts, I'm afraid.

Britney Spears breast size : Modest C cup (when she's not pregnant or is on the slimmer side)

Christina Aguilera breast size : Pre Breast Implants : A cup Post Breast Implants : Large C cup

Catherine Bell breast size : Large D cup : Not definitive that she has implants, but I suspect she was a fairly busty woman who also had implants, which is why this large breast size looks so natural on her, and yet she doesn't have a whole lot of sagging for such a large size.

Jessica Simpson breast size : Small D cup : Jessica Simpson is another celebrity that has been puzzled over as to whether she has implants. Some "experts" say yes, and some say she's natural. I just want to know how she lost all that weight and didn't lose a bit of breast size. Hmmm...

Jessica Alba breast size : Small B cup : Although Jessica Alba is one of those celebs that has worn many a push up bras and I suspect has also worn gel inserts to change cup size so drastically between films, you can tell she has a natural breast size of about a small B cup. She also has very little body fat, which accounts for her perfectly natural smaller size.

While many of us may not be happy with the appearance of our breasts, it is good to know that they do come in all sizes and shapes, and we can actually improve their appearance - whether it be increasing their size, enhancing the shape and contour of the breast, or adding to the perkiness, firmness and perfect beauty of the female form, if we are not happy with our current breast size and appearance. There are lots of ways to do this. Massage, exercise, supplementation and just an all around good diet are a few of the ways.

It's just good to know that some of the most beautiful celebrities in the world have either had a lot of help from a plastic surgeon in the breast department, or they are not as large as they are made to look on screen. It goes to show that the most important thing is that you are happy with yourself, and feeling beautiful has much more to do with confidence and other areas other than your breasts.

celebrity plastic surgery : the cat in catastrophe

Now perhaps no one has really heard of Jocelyne Wildenstein, but she is truly a freak show of her own. This woman, who looked fine to begin with, decided that she wanted to look like a cat. Yes, you read right... a cat.
As you can see in her before picture (on the left), she was quite pretty and normal looking. In her after photograph though, it's evident that this woman will never be able to go anywhere without being ogled. Or anywhere hot for that matter... God forbid, she might melt!

Many plastic surgery surgeons openly criticize Jocelyne's surgeon for agreeing to make her look the way she does, saying that it's unethical. What would possess anyone into thinking that looking subhuman is attractive?

celebrity plastic surgery : Celebrities & Cosmetic Surgery

What is happening in today's society? It seems that the most fashionable thing among celebrities is plastic surgery. Everything from tummy tucks and chin implants to eye lifts and breast implants have taken effect more than ever.
The Hollywood "plastification" has begun to seep into our mainstream life. Everyone knows someone with at least a newly inflated chest or a Cindy Crawford-like nose. Let's face it -- plastic surgery is gradually becoming the norm. Move over sagging boobs, make way for something firmer!

So how many celebrities have had plastic surgery? Virtually every single one. Some will deny it until death while others have no problem facing up to it. After all, when your breasts are suddenly shaped like two perfectly rounded cushions, the public will likely put two and two together (or in this case, one and one).

Let us begin with the poster boy and girl for plastic surgery. Now I'm sure everyone is aware of Michael Jackson's undying obsession with plastic surgery. The discolored King of Pop has had more nose jobs than all of Hollywood put together.
Whereas he began as a typical African-American child with typical African-American physical traits, Michael changed practically everything about himself, including his skin color! Even if his skin condition physically whitens his epidermis, he still helped the process.

What about Cher? What kind of plastic surgery has the Armenian diva undergone? Well how about a breast enlargement, nose job(s), cheek implants, tummy tuck, butt-lift, face-lift, and liposuction? I guess when you're rich, you stop wanting to be you

celebrity plastic surgery : Plastic Surgery Tips

Thinking of having a little nip and tuck? In our little Q&A, Jocelyne Wildenstein provides some things to think about before surrendering to the surgeon's scalpel.

Jocelyne, why do so many women decide to have plastic surgery?

There are so many reasons, it is up to the individual I suppose. Some women have surgery to slow the march of time, some decide to go under the knife to correct a perceived flaw and some decide to do it when their husband is threatening to not only leave them for a 21 year old Russian model, but cut them off their financial support and the only way they can think to save the marriage is to turn themselves into a replica of his favourite jungle animal.

All very valid reasons, all very personal reasons.

What if a woman can't afford plastic surgery - are there any alternatives you can suggest?

Yes I recommend she develop a personality and learn to bake.

No, what I mean is, are there any non-surgical procedures you can recommend?

No.

How does one go about choosing the right surgeon?

It depends on your needs of course but there are a few things I've learned during my journey that I would like to share.

It is impossible to hold a medical degree from the University of Papaya as Papaya is not a country, you should never have to walk through a transmission shop to get to the clinic and avoid places that require a secret knock.

Clean well appointed premises are a good sign and you can tell a lot about the surgeon by his clients. If the surgeon has a photograph of Mary Tyler Moore or Carol Burnett in the lobby consider that a good sign.

Once I've found the right doctor what then?

Be specific about your needs and don't take no for an answer. Remember, like a housepainter, a plastic surgeon works for you. Just as you wouldn't let a housepainter say "No, I think it looks good now. I refuse to do any more work as it would be dangerous." You should not let a surgeon bully you. Make a clear list of what you want. If they cannot deliver, tell them you will get someone else to do it. Then spread a rumour that he/she left a sponge behind your left ear.

Bring in a photograph, or a clipping from National Geographic as I did, to show the surgeon exactly the look you desire. Unless you have a knack for drawing don't make the Joan Rivers mistake of handing in a sketch on a cocktail napkin.

Make sure you are going to get value for your money. Michelle Pfeiffer, Candice Bergen, Lauren Hutton are just three examples of women who were taken for thousands of dollars yet have very little to show for it. If the only comments you get after you've invested thousands are "my, you look rested" or "did you get your hair cut?" then you have not received your money's worth. Would you spend $50,000 on a tune-up for your old car? No, you would get a brand new one. Same thing here.

Any post-surgery tips?

Well of course you must make sacrifices- I for one lost my peripheral vision after my last cheek implant but I weighed it over carefully and realized I only used it for driving so it was a decision I could live with.

You might be well advised during your convalescence to work up a few signals to replace the expressions you've lost in your face. (If of course the surgery is done right.) I twiddle the fingers on my left hand to show joy and use one finger on the right hand to express displeasure but you will have many isolated weeks to find symbols that work for you.

Keep in mind that women are very jealous creatures. They will more than likely resent your transformation if they can't afford to do it themselves. My advice in this instance is to consider the source and do your best to rise above their pettiness. If it all gets too much for you always remember: nothing gives you a lift like a little collagen.

Shannon Doherty Tells "The View" -- No Plastic Surgery!

Apparently Shannon Doherty was so broken up with tabloid reports of her having had plastic surgery that production on her new show 'Breaking Up With Shannon Doherty' had to be stopped until she could stop crying, according to a report in The Scoop."

Really. What's the big deal? I think these things are planned publicity stunts.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Plastic Surgery

Jamie Lee Curtis is apparently admitting to liposuction, lower eyelid surgery and botox and says problems with these procedures have led her to call it quits on the plastics.

I wonder what exactly happened and if it was avoidable. She might have been a bit young for the eyelids which could have been part of the problem. Liposuction in areas that don't have much fat can also make problems more likely. She also admits to substance addiction. Addicted patients should stay away from surgery. These are uncommon problems in my practice thankfully.

Michelle Pfeiffer has a Balanced Opinion on Plastic Surgery

This star has a balanced opinion on plastic surgery:

"If that nose or those jowls bother you do it! But this epidemic of people losing sight of what looks good, the distortion that has been going on is kind of creepy." She stated in In Style magazine.

Paula Abdul's Breasts and Pectus excavatum

Paula Abdul is getting picked upon for having "weird boobs...." here and here . She probably has old implants but also Pectus excavatum, an inherited chest wall deformity. You can't blame her surgeon for that....lol. Her breasts could be lifted but to improve the "dent" between them a more involved procedure would be required.

celebrity plastic surgery : Awful Plastic Surgery

The good, bad, and ugly of celebrity plastic surgery
July 18, 2006
Oh no, what is wrong with Nelly Furtado's face? Her birthdate is supposedly December 2, 1978. Then, why does it look like she had a brow lift? Could she be older? She looks different in the eye area and its not an improvement. Her expressive eyes were my favorite thing about her.

July 17, 2006
Shannon Doherty, former star of Beverly Hills 90210, is looking odd lately. She seems to have gotten prominent crows feet around her eyes overnight. The lines are especially noticeable when she smiles. Its as if the skin of her upper face has been pulled too tightly. A too tight brow lift can cause wrinkles at the sides of the eyes because the skin has no elasticity.

June 13, 2006
An alert reader named Kristin sent us photos of what appears to be a totally new, older looking Jennifer Lopez. Why does JLo's face look stretched? Her smile looks a bit off kilter in the after photo. Could she have had a brow lift? Her hairline looks like it has moved back.

June 5, 2006

Vivica Fox looks like 20 years older with the work she's had done

is that a chin implant? cheeks? lips? eyelids? facelift? browjob

whatever she's done it's too bad, she used to be cute

AwfulPlasticSurgery.com has to agree. It looks like Vivica had some sort of browlift (look at how her hairline seems further back), some cheek implants, and whopping dose of lip collagen (the bow of her top lip of misshappen).

May 10, 2006
I recently saw Antonio Sabato on the Daytime Emmys and something looked 'off' about his appearance. He was not the cute guy I remembered from 'General Hospital' and 'Melrose Place'. His forehead looked strangely smooth and very plastic like a Ken doll's (Barbie's boyfriend). His hairline also looked higher.

What is my suspicion? I suspect he may have had a brow lift. Antonio is only 34 years old. Why such a drastic step at such a young age? The change has ruined his facial harmony and is not an improvement.

May 7, 2006
A concerned reader who is an avid fan of The Food Network's Rachel Ray sent in several photos, because he is convinced that she has done something dastardly to alter her appearance.

He writes,'She was as cute as a button just a couple of years ago, cute enough to post for FHM Magazine. Then about two years ago, something happened to her face, and I suspect she's had some work done on her eyes. They haven't looked quite right since, her eyes look thinner, and her eyebrows raised. It's especially obvious when you watch her older shows back to back with her newer ones, as they run them on Friday nights, or by comparing some of her older book covers with her newer ones. Bad move, for someone who really didn't need any changes.'

April 17, 2006
Victoria Silverstedt, 1997 Playmate of the Year, is an apparent victim of trout pout. Her upper lip looks huge compared to how it looked just a few years ago. Did she need larger lips? No, she was already extremely attractive. Enhancing the size of one's lips to the extreme is not a good idea.

You be the judge. Did Rachel have some sort of brow lift?

celebrity plastic surgery : History of Michael Jackson's Face - part 3

The "Black Lagoon" phase
Big news brings Michael out of his Howard Hughes-like life and back into the spotlight when he charges his record company, Sony, is "racist". That's why his "Invincible" CD sold 2 million copies; Sony didn't promote him enough. He sez. We all get to gasp anew and ask the question - WTF?! Seems he's had his nose fixed,,,WHEW! and just got out of bed. As it is reported in the news it seems a bridge was built to widen the nasal passages. "Thank God!" the headlines say. Poor thing probably couldn't breathe! with those teensy bitty nostrils. Oh How Nice For Him! Perhaps his singing will improve, since his last album was 70 minutes of hiccups, grunts, fake crying and yips. One has to wonder why, with all his money, he can't seem to find plastic surgeons who are capable of actually doing plastic surgery. The "fixed" bridge appears as two lumpy lines and not what say, just for the sake of argument, a plastic surgeon might put in someone's face to create a nose bridge. Maybe this is a new trend in Breath-Rite Strip implants? One wonders what those Jutting Gill Bumps were on the sides of his jaw in 1997. Mike ruins his symmetry schtick with mismatched, lopsided eyes and lipstick like my senile Aunt Margaret wears. Music critics and even those in the record industry are saying OK, quite enough from this goof. There is even a TV special in the UK asking - If this is what the guy is doing to his outside, then what the hell is going on inside? What's happened to our Michael?

Tracey Orvez took this photo in the parking lot of the Beverly Regent Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. She heard he was there so waited in hopes of seeing him. What a surprize it must have been to see The Mike, making his way to his limo dressed in only blue Jammies with snow flakes and polar bears on them. Always a good look for a star, I say. She asked if she could take his photo and he said sure...as long as she "stood well back".

I can't imagine why.

The publicly decried "third nostril", which appeared after the January plastic surgery (see above photo) that a few took time out of their busy days to write and inform me I was full of shit about, seems to be closing up but has left an obvious scar. The tip, which has been rumored (damn, I'm good) to have died and/or be a puttied-on prothesis looks to be dead tissue and/or a puttied on prothesis. Said Ms. Orvez: "He looked like a ghoul. When I had the picture developed, I was sick. The guy doesn't appear to have a nose."

Well, when you hack away at it for 15 years, that happens. But as my detractors write to me, I just put these vicious "lies" up because I'm "jealous". I am, boy howdy! I'm jealous I don't have whatever it is Mike's on to make his pupils the size of dinner plates. And I would really love some Polar bear and snowflake jammies myself. I wish Tracey mentioned if they had Feets in them or not! It's hell trying to find "fun" jammie feets pajamas when you're a grown up woman. How envious I am that a grown man can!

The Latex Monkey In a Bad Wig Look of Planet Michael

The story is that Mike was in court because of a $21 million suit filed by his longtime promoter, Marcel Avram. He says Mike didn't show up for 2 concerts New Years Eve 2000 and Mike says he thought they'd been canceled so spent the night at home watching TV. ::rolling eyes:::

Jackson wore a surgical mask when entering and leaving the courthouse (gee..wonder why?). His former publicist says he routinely wears the mask "to protect his throat from pollution and germs". Like that reason in itself is a perfectly normal one. You see anyone else walking around with surgical masks on? Perhaps it's to hide the dead, rotting tip of his putty nose. Just to throw out an idea here. What I think we have here is the New Howard Hughes.

I like the wig though. I wasn't aware that the historic (3000 - 1200 BC) tradition of wearing dead marmots on your head had been revived. Are those caterpillar eyebrows? A 1000-yard stare? What a trend setter!

Thirty fans were allowed into the courtroom after winning that "honor" by Lotto.

Mr. Potatohead Michael
We can all rest easier now - Michael got a new nose courtesy of Dr. Werner Mang, a German Plastic surgeon. Not only is Dr. Mang a gifted genius, but he doesn't mind talking about how he made Michael a new nose out of part of his ear. Just in time for Mike's child molestation trial, so he's looking good. Except for wearing white to court, and everyone knows you don't wear white after Labor Day.

So Dr. Mang says that Mike's "people" in 1998 about fixing his nose, since it was rotting off his face. Mang did the operation in the office of Michael's regular plastic surgeon, the one who ought to be sued for malpractice. He took a slice of cartilage from Mike's ear and slapped that puppy on his non-nose. He stated that Michael has an obsession with plastic surgery and wants to change from a black man to a white woman. He really said that, too. I really like this doctor. He thinks like me! Michael's regular plastic surgeon said that after every album, Mike had more surgery done and always wanted a thinner nose. Michael, however, still claims he only had two procedures done on his nose and nothing else. Not one thing. His face just sort of "squared out" and, mercifully, he got a much better wig.

celebrity plastic surgery : History of Michael Jackson's Face - part 2

The "Judy Jetson"/Flying Monkey look..and the year It all began..
He messed with it all again. Current Color: toilet paper pink. Cheeks: Squirrel socking nuts away for the winter. Reportedly the tip of his nose is so damaged from the operations that the tissue has died, and he's now wearing a fake prothesis tip. (Ya think? ). This unnecessary and seemingly nonstop alteration has passed into the realm of "self-mutilation" and when the shocking news of child molestation charges come to light, it's the last straw for his sponsors Pepsi, LA Gear and others who cancel his contracts. The public, who forgave his mounting eccentricities because of his incredible talents nod in silence about it all, unsurprised. Most remark that someone with this going on visibly outside has to have a lot of demons going on inside. In his defense, Mike launches his second career as Whining, Weeping, Hurt, Offended, Innocent Victim. Like being instantly on the verge of tears at any legit question he wants to avoid is also "normal".

The "Alcoholic Housewife" look...
... didn't catch on either. Even the staunch defenders of Michael's sanity have to admit the boy's cheese has slid off his cracker. Mike gets a fake chin implant and suddenly loses his cleft chin, the sides of his face are stretched taut, his nose isn't pointing North anymore and it's anyone's guess what the hell he did to his skin this time. The Art of Cosmetology seems to be an unknown science in his part of the world and he's getting his face done at the local morgue. He has new lipstick (my shade Mike..cool!) and jokes abound that he's turned into Diana Ross. He is a ghoul and seems to be a sick puppy with all this stuff he's done to himself and his bizarre antics in public. Each photo that shows up in the coming years never fails to make people's jaws drop. Mike gets worked up saying he doesn't see why everyone but him can have a little nip and tuck on the nose but let him go have a tiny bit and BOY O BOY it's National News. ::fake sob!:: He doesn't think he looks that different and wishes people would leave him alone. We wish he'd leave his face alone.

The Batman Period - Holy Joker!
New chin again. Nose again. New cheeks. Smaller jaw. The Bizarro angles gone. The gaunt look is replaced by rounder fluff. This would all be amusing as Theater except this is how he's walking around, every day, pretending this is all perfectly normal. The weirdest thing is people act like it is. I mean, you never see photos of Mike dragging the usual 3 or 4 little boys around with him, at some awards show and see people in the background throwing up. Rumor has it he transplanted some pubic hair to his jaw to try to make a Goatee in an attempt to butch up , but the thought is too repulsive to dwell on.
Of course that's just Tabloid fodder.

The Japanese Anime Cartoon Guy period
Oh, this isn't looking good...a Goatee! Suddenly his jaw is an inch longer. He got his eyes pulled so tight he looks Oriental and they've ceased to line up properly. His lips have a hint of that lizard-lock smile you see on people who have overdone the facelifts. Good thing Japanese Anime cartoons are taking the US by storm so this is kind of fashionable. Hey, if you plaster the make up on enough, you can make anyone look good. A new fad are the "Glamor Shot" Stores, where women plop down huge amounts of $$$ to have technicians professionally do their make-up, hair. Photography experts professionally light them and transform the package into a drop dead gorgeous, stunning New You and take photograph evidence that it was actually managed. Everyday women are transformed into sensual, perfect creatures. Because of this It hits us that this is the trick Michael's been using in all those perfect professional photos we see of him! You mean all those photos of him are retouched?! Say it ain't so! When he's caught in public it's quite a different matter. And ack! Is that pubic hair?

What Ever Happened To Baby Mike?
My, my.. where does one start? Here is Michael at the age of 42 with his wrecked face and apparently no makeup. Gone the artistry of the airbrush, wizardry of make up artists and the kind, magic lighting of studio crafted reality. You can see the rumored (please note inventive use of word "rumored" to avoid a law suit...) fake-nose-tip-prothesis hanging off as well as the scars. The thin little beak nose of 1997 seems to have expanded once again. It's hard to see a human being in there, and it's amazing there are plastic surgeons who can mutilate someone like this and sleep at night. I wish I had $1 for every ranting "fan" who's accused me of altering this photo or airbrushing/faking the photos on this page. I tell them that's called "getting sued to oblivion" ", if it were true on my part. All these photos are from fan or "official" web sites or major publications and can be obtained by anyone willing to use a search engine for an hour or two. Information on Mike's face, his surgeries, his bizarre personal and public actions and the words of people who have stopped covering for him fill ten of thousands of web sites.

celebrity plastic surgery : History of Michael Jackson's Face - part 1

Hard to believe - this was Michael Jackson. He was born August 28, 1958 - one of 9 kids. His father reportedly nicknamed him "Big Nose".

Mike was born a cute African-American guy. "Normal", if you will, and very talented. Despite the current, sad stories about his lonely, sad childhood, Mike grew up surrounded by famous people and an adoring public. At age 5, Mike and his brothers were the amazing 'Jackson 5'. They played locally, then in New York and Philly. They were "discovered" by Gladys Knight and pianist Billy Taylor at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. By age 11, Mike was a Superstar. At age 13 he went solo and had his first #1 hit at 14 with "Ben" (a touching love song to a rat). Who knew he'd get addicted to plastic surgery, face accusations of child molestation and end up America's Most Famous Sideshow?

Mike gets his nose slightly narrowed and his eyebrows shaped. This was his "Thriller" Era and he was smokin'. People did notice this facial change and commented on it - guys just didn't do this back then.
Some in the Black community made comments about him having a problem with his African-American
looks and making his nose more "White". He was cute as hell, though. Oh, baby. He gave coherent interviews. He had a cute sense of humor and was seen on TV doing other things besides whining, faking tears and defending legal charges. He didn't wear a face mask in public. He smiled a big, infectious smile. He was humble and grateful for his fame and his fans' appreciation. He made hit after hit, celebrated music videos one after another, sealed obscenely huge record sales and contracts. He had unprecedented $ponsorship deals with Pepsi, and LA Gear Sportwear. People stood in line at 1AM to purchase "Thriller" when it came out, even though the store didn't open until 9 AM.

The shark music from "Jaws" starts softly in the background...
Another nose job to narrow things and permanent eyeliner tattooed around his eyes. Ouch! Is that lipstick?! Hell, it's the 80s - it's allowed. During that time he had an army of spin doctors, lawyers, bodyguards, agents, minions, PR magicians, attendants, and managers all making sure he no one had a clue about his personal life but what did we care? He was doing amazing, selfless things - contributing to children's charities and starting his own "Heal The World Foundation"; cowriting the famous "We Are The World" song to help African famine victims. He was given the Heritage Award and praised by Queen Liz, President Reagan and others. Mike was everywhere, giving as much as he got and letting us all know how blessed he was. There was no one who wasn't impressed and didn't sprain an ankle trying to imitate his "Moon Walk" in their living room.

The Sigourney Weaver in "Ghostbusters" Stage - The beginning of the end.
OK, people and the press are really talking now. Gasps are audibly heard. He gets his nose done again, and, in a move that will forever baffle the world, neglects to sue the bastard who botched the surgery job on him. He suddenly has cheek bones. In a mere year and a half his skin's gone from beautiful cocoa bronze to fish belly white. He first denies this, then blames it on the medical condition Vitiligo which causes people of color to develop light patches of skin that lack pigment. Well he doesn't say this, his "people" say this. Mike ain't saying a thing which is odd considering the good he could do to bring this little understood condition to public light. Rumors abound that he's been allegedly taking female hormones (note the clever use of the word "allegedly" to avoid a law suit) to remove facial hair and keep that voice of his at the 12 year old boy pitch. He's talking in a Marilyn Monroe Little Girl Whisper. He's started the Spin of the misunderstood, picked-upon Victim instead of an increasingly weird 30 year old man. He's creepy. People are making jokes that only in America can you be born a black man and end up a white woman. Talented or no, the fact is we're realizing that Michael Has Issues.

The "LaToilet" stage
In an insult to transvestite men everywhere - who can look pretty damn good in a dress and makeup and can project alluring female charm - when Mike does this, he doesn't even have the decency to stop grabbing his crotch every 1.0045 seconds and allowing that image for us. His skin is getting lighter still even though it's supposedly already been lightened (or not...who do you believe? Him or his PR people?). His public antics are presented weekly, as are his new lip colors. He should pick a damn color and stick with it already. Eyebrows were whittled down to Joan Crawford peaks. He now has an interesting, manly cleft in his chin and a dropped, square jawline. The joke was that he was really his sister LaToya - you notice you never saw them in the same room together? He gets his nose done again and now sports little teeny triangles for nostrils and a sharp razor ridge you could grate cheese on. Popular opinion is he "fucked it up". He defends himself in the press by asking why people make such a Thang out of it... a lot of people get a little nose work done! and it's not national news! Sheesh already! Can't you leave him alone?! He's got a skin disease! (although having Vitilgo has nothing to do with having nonstop plastic surgery). He had a bad childhood! He's a nice person! He recycles his plastics! Even people in his 'camp' are publicly saying the man's elevator isn't going to the top floor anymore. to be continue

celebrity plastic surgery : Fix Your Face

Plastic surgery is the most common avenue for personal enhancement. It can be used to enhance the original features that a person may find unattractive. It instills a sense of confidence and self-esteem in the patient. Facial plastic surgery is one of the most prevalent forms of cosmetic surgery. Though a multitude of women opt for facial surgery, even men are not lagging in the race for beauty and superb looks. Surgeons are often confronted with strange requests from patients, who crave for facial surgery so they may acquire the gorgeous looks of their favorite Hollywood star.

Facial plastic surgery is not solely used to impart drop-dead good looks; its use extends much more than that. Reconstructive surgery, a type of plastic surgery, can be used to reshape certain facial features, which might have been disfigured due to congenital defect, accident, trauma or disease. The key intent of such a facial surgery is to improve function, impart a normal appearance, and to help the patient lead a normal life.

A comprehensive surgical facelift involves a series of operations, which may entail work on ears, nose, lips, eyes, chin, and forehead, among others. For instance, women may opt for lip enhancement to make the lips look more pronounced. An eyelid surgery creates the impression of permanent beautiful eyelids. Nearly every aspect of the face can be altered using facial plastic surgery. Those who can bear the expense do crave for a celebrity look that emulates their favorite actor.

The increasing number of facial surgery procedures is strong evidence to the fact that both men and women benefit from plastic surgery. It widens their horizon as far social activities are concerned. Moreover, with unprecedented advances in technology, sophisticated software tools are available at a surgeon’s disposal. These tools enable the surgeon to achieve a more predictable result. With such a favorable scenario, facial plastic surgery is set to achieve immense worldwide popularity.

celebrity plastic surgery : Celebrity Trends: Hip to Be Pregnant?

In the new age of celebrity obsession, it seems pregnancy is now the latest "must have" accessory for many Hollywood stars with and without little ones already at home.

Pregnancy and children used to be considered career suicide in Hollywood. But now we have the pop culture coined "baby bump", "bump watch", and other cutesy-trendy phrases to describe the public's obsession with who's pregnant, who's planning on getting pregnant, and who looks suspiciously pregnant in the world of celebrity gossip.

One would almost be able to say that celebrity pregnancy watches have surpassed divorce and breakup watches - almost, but not quite. The world loves other people's "dirty laundry", and a baby is still considered a generally happy occasion for anyone, so I suppose this new obsession is better than the lust for bad news about stars and their fortunes, right?

A growing trend right now is also single motherhood, and the declaration of independence many young actresses, such as Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz, have recently made about the virtues of single motherhood.

More and more actresses are saying no to marriage, and yes to motherhood, which is probably a sign of a growing sense of feminism and independence in Hollywood, and around the world.

Now that women are in the working force, and many times more than capable of financially supporting themselves and a child, single motherhood has become more acceptable. In Hollywood, single motherhood has become somewhat of a status symbol. Take Angelina Jolie for example.

When before do you remember a single mother being looked upon with respect and envy? Angelina and other high fashion, beautiful, big name actresses who've said no to relationships and yes to mommyhood only increase the public's hunger for more "celebrity baby news".

She and other sexy moms like Diane Lane, Shania Twain and other svelte celebs who've given birth have also given new meaning to the term "hot mama".

These women have helped us "regular" women realize that we don't all have to stop having fun, looking sexy, and dressing young once we've had children. They've made motherhood seem sexy, almost like a new beginning or rejuvenation of the spirit and outlook on life.

Some may argue that celebrity mom glorification makes real life mom's feel inferior and paints an unrealistic picture of ease and happiness in motherhood, what with all the extra help celebs can afford to hire.

I disagree. I think it's taught women that we can pursue a career, and have a family. We can have it all, we just have to work for it. And who is going to disagree with that?

celebrity plastic surgery : celebrity plastic surgery

When we think of celebrities and going under the knife, Michael Jackson is first on the list, but right below him there are many more celebrities. Some to name who have had rhinoplasty include, Salma Hayek, Ashlee Simpson, Winona Ryder, and even Halle Berry. But it doesn't stop with the nose; it extends to the even more popular breast augmentation. I just wonder how it only looks disgusting to some people that so many woman movie stars have breasts that look as hard as a rock.
They call tattoos on women on the lower back right above the rear a tramp stamp…what should they call women with fake breasts, the twin tramp stamp? With so many celebrities who want plastic surgery, who have had plastic surgery, and the faces and bodies we will notice that are soon to have plastic surgery, the celebrities will never let the public down no matter what it takes, even if it means going from white skin to black
The movie starlets with fake boobs include such stars as Britney Spears, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson, Shannon Elizabeth, Tiffany-Amber Theissan, Mariah Carey, Lindsay Lohan, Carmen Electra, Demi Moore, Denise Richards, Vivica A. Fox, Christina Aguilera, Tara Reid, Torri Spelling and the list could go on forever! What ever happened to Good Ol' Natural?

celebrity plastic surgery : New Plastic Surgery Procedures

The body thermage is a relatively new procedure sweeping the plastic surgery field. Yes, it is the procedure you see performed on many of the makeover television shows.

New Plastic Surgery Procedures – Body Thermage

Many people wonder how celebrities can lose a dress size so fast with apparently doing anything. The answer is a procedure known as body thermage, which is generally used in the treatment of facial and neck laxity. Body thermage is considered an innovative and safe cosmetic option, which is based on radio frequency energy applied to the skin.

The body thermage procedure is often referred to as radiothermaplasty, therma-lift or therma-cool. The treatment is a non-surgical procedure that has shown effectiveness to temporary correct lax abdominal skin, but thermage can be also applied to lift other parts of the body including buttocks, thighs and arms.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the thermage procedure in 2002, originally for the treatment of facial wrinkles and rhytids. Since then, increasing references from TV shows promoting the results resulted in the procedure receive additional clearance for the extensive use of treatment anywhere on the body.

Although almost anyone can undergo body thermage, people whose age is between 35 and 60 are the ideal candidates for the procedure due to the mild to moderate skin laxity present at that age. The skin tightening procedure is meant to be permanent, but this can only be achieved with corresponding maintenance and follow-up programs.

In a massive breakthrough, thermage is also used to successfully treat stretch marks and loose abdominal skin after pregnancy or remarkable weight loss, particularly in obese patients. However, this procedure is not recommended for women immediately after childbirth, except if they are done having children because the effect will be lost with a following pregnancy.

A typical thermage procedure will last from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the area to be treated and pre-existing condition. People with implanted cardiac devices, including pacemakers, should avoid undergoing thermage procedures due to the radio frequency energy below the surface of the skin into the collagen. Specifically, the energy can interfere with the functioning of cardiac devices, a true disaster. Thermage does not require incisions, injections, or surgery. However, individuals taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), such as naproxen, prednisone, and ibuprofen, must avoid it.

The decision to have a body thermage procedure is not one that should be taken lightly. Make sure to consult with a qualified celebrity plastic surgery to determine if it is solution to your condition.

celebrity plastic surgery : Plastic Surgery, Lasers, and TCA Skin Peels

Ask a teenager about plastic surgery and the youngster will have enough to say about the contoured bodies, broad shoulders and the picture perfect features of the cine stars. For most of them, plastic surgery stands for cosmetic plastic surgery and they strongly believe in what the so-called reality TV shows show – a slight downsizing here and a little enhancement there is going to change their lives. But why just blame the youths? The older generation is doing no better either. There seems a great need of setting their notions right.

Plastic surgery is actually a reconstruction or restoration of deformed, destroyed and injured parts of the body. This corrective surgery improves the appearance of the patient and at the same time adds to the functionality of the once deformed, defective part. Thus, birth defects like cleft lips and palates, disfigurements resulting from accidents like burn-marks or for that matter a deformity acquired in the process of disease treatment (removal of one or both the breasts as part of breast cancer treatment) can be set right by plastic surgery specialists.

The history of plastic surgeries runs back to the days of the ancient Egyptians. The word ‘plastic’ in the name is derived from the Greek word plastikos, which means to form or mold. The molding surgery became popular after the First World War (countless casualties with body disfigurements was an aftermath of the war).

Plastic surgery is real surgery, involving cutting and stitching. Hence, the plastic surgery specialists always emphasize on the patients emotional and physical fitness in order to handle the stresses of surgery. Plastic surgeons, therefore, make it a point to check medical history of patients. An ideal plastic surgery specialist agrees to give a surgical treatment only if he/she finds that the patient is a perfect candidate – nearly the ideal age, ideal weight, not ailing and sticks to a healthy lifestyle. Thus, some surgeons will not perform certain procedures like Rhinoplasty (reshaping the nose) and breast implants on teens.

Plastic surgery costs are a bit exorbitant and especially if you go to a certified plastic surgeon. Nevertheless, considering the complexity involved, you should never be taking any risks. Moreover, if you are undergoing plastic surgery for the right reason (and surgery becomes a dire necessity) you shall have insurance coverage. In case you are opting for a cosmetic plastic surgery and simply want to undergo a metamorphosis from an ugly duckling to a beautiful angel, you will have to bear the costs.

Do not let yourself be fooled by each celebrity plastic surgery news! It may not be possible for you to check for the authenticity of the news but you know, there are simpler and safer ways of changing your looks and gaining confidence if you are thinking of plastic surgery as a makeover option.

For instance, TCA peels and laser treatments are external treatments that result in younger looking skin and can treat or even cure many skin conditions from acne and wrinkles to sagging skin and sun spots. TCA peels have been used in Hollywood by the stars for years on reality shows like The Swan, MTV’s Made, even on Oprah. Unlike Laser treatments, which are only available as a in office or spa treatment, TCA peels can now be purchased for at home treatment and they are considered to be the most effective spa treatment available by numerous plastic surgeons and dermatologists alike. Celebrities and Breast Size - They're Not as Naturally Blessed as You Might Think

Celebrity Breast Sizes - Does Their Cup Truly Runneth Over?

Celebrities & Cosmetic Surgery

Speaking of Anderson, who does Pamela think she's kidding? She went from a B-cup to double Ds and then down to a firm-as-terra C-cup. And when I say firm, I mean you could bounce quarters off these contraptions.

celebrity plastic surgery: Among the women who vow that their breasts are real are supermodel Tyra Banks and, of course, Britney Spears. After Britney went into the hospital for a "knee operation," the healing process miraculously spawned boobs for the teen sensation.

It's still a debate whether her breasts are real, fake or enhanced with that illusion-powered Wonderbra thingamajig. I'm sure that every guy is familiar with the bra that's filled with padding or water or something along those lines, then once it's removed, what you thought you were getting ends up in the bra and what you're left with is a pair of itsy-bitsy teeny-weenies.

something added, something taken away

So what are the most popular surgeries among men and women today? Well it's quite obvious that in women's case, breasts are the first things that need a little saline power. Next comes liposuction, in which women suck the unwanted fat out of their bodies (gyms take too long for the desired results, you know).

Third on the list of "things to remove" is the infamous rhinoplasty, or as it is more familiarly known, a nose job. After that come the more menial and petty things like face-lifts and wrinkle removal.

Nowadays, more and more men have begun going under the knife as well. Breast implants aren't the No. 1 things on their list, but liposuction certainly is. Next in line comes that renowned nose job and following in at a close third is eyelid surgery.

Unbelievably, another popular surgery among men is called gynecomastia -- that is where men have the excess fat that they've developed in their breasts removed. That sounds real attractive.

Well, it seems that beauty has literally become skin deep and people everywhere are taking lessons from celebrities and having a job or two performed on themselves.

After all, how many times have you watched one of those "Look At Me" talk shows (Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, Maury Povich...), and witnessed some made-over woman who looks like she just walked in from Sunset Boulevard?

I guess we're all looking for a cure for that inevitable ailment of death that will strike us all. Unfortunately, plastic surgery may give an appearance of youth, but the insides are what truly count because if your heart doesn't beat rhythmically or your brain sometimes malfunctions, no plastic surgeon will be able to rectify that. celebrity plastic surgery

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 -- In an effort to help better understand the dynamics of perceived beauty, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) recently surveyed its members -- facial plastic surgeons, true face specialists -- to rate the facial features of celebrities over the past four decades and to determine how beauty has changed over time.

In addition, the Academy asked its members to identify the greatest advancements and milestones in facial plastic surgery."Over the past forty years, the advancements in new technologies, safety and patient results in facial plastic surgery have evolved just as beauty has, and while beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, this survey shows how facial attractiveness transcends through time," says Dr. Steven Pearlman, president of the AAFPRS.

The following information highlights the celebrity plastic surgery, beauty findings from the recent AAFPRS membership survey:

The 1960's

Peace, love, happiness and wide eyes marked the sixties. Legendary actors Elizabeth Taylor (38 percent) and Paul Newman (42 percent) defined beauty during this decade. Taylor's porcelain skin and well-proportioned eyes as well as the defined features of Newman's eyes and lips epitomized timeliness beauty. Fair Lady Audrey Hepburn followed Taylor with 26 percent of the votes, while the tall, dark and handsome Cary Grant rounded out the male category with 38 percent.

Facial plastic surgeon experts agree that facial skeletal proportions are the true determining factors when analyzing facial attractiveness. A well-proportioned face should be divided into equal thirds, with horizontal lines drawn through the anterior hairline, the brow, the base of the nose, and the edge of the chin.

The 1970's

Disco, bellbottoms, polyester and thick eyebrows characterized the seventies with icons Farrah Fawcett and Robert Redford both receiving 70 percent of the facial plastic surgeon votes. "The seventies embodied leading ladies who had defined features like Meryl Streep and Cher," said Pearlman. "But Farrah Fawcett's delicate nose and chin and well-developed cheek bones gave her the face of this decade, while Robert Redford's nose and strong jaw line illustrated why he was selected."

The 1980's

Eighties glamour; big hair and bold makeup represented the beauty ideal of this time. Model Christie Brinkley (49 percent) and actor Mel Gibson (33 percent) embodied the best facial features during this decade while Michelle Pfeiffer (38%) and Harrison Ford (30%) come in a close second.

The 1990's

The decade of minimalism, grunge and supermodels indicated a change in the ideal face of beauty. Fashion icon Cindy Crawford (40 percent) and legendary bachelor George Clooney (29 percent) symbolized attractiveness in the nineties. "Supermodel Cindy Crawford was likely chosen by our members because of her flawless skin, attractive nose and recognizable lips. Clooney possesses a strong jaw and straight, masculine nose," said Pearlman. Starlet Nicole Kidman came in second with 14 percent of the votes as did Tom Cruise with 22 percent.

The Present

Catherine Zeta-Jones (31%) and Hugh Jackman (26%) epitomize the current ideal faces of beauty. Charlize Theron (23%) comes in second and Lucy Liu (1%) gets only a small vote. In the male category, Colin Farrell (21%) is right behind Jackman while Justin Timberlake (3%) comes in last. The present faces of beauty represent many features of the ideal. "Zeta-Jones has a short delicate jaw with small chin and nose, all of which are desirable for an attractive female face," said Dr. Pearlman.

With the celebrities selected, all possessing desirable facial features that represent beauty of yesterday and today, the AAFPRS stresses the importance for prospective patients to have realistic expectations of facial plastic surgery and should seek cosmetic surgery only to enhance features rather than to look like someone else.

"Patients who are seeking facial plastic surgery do not necessarily want to 'look' like a celebrity, but rather want to enhance their own features. The AAFPRS urges patients to make an educated choice when selecting a surgeon if he or she is considering facial plastic surgery," adds Pearlman.

A surgeon should be board certified by boards affiliated with the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) or equivalent boards like the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

The Academy's 40th anniversary is being recognized this week in New York City at the AAFPRS annual meeting. Approximately 900 facial plastic surgeons from around the world will be at the four-day convention filled with presentations, exhibits, social events, workshops and panel discussions on the latest in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery.

The AAFPRS is the world's largest association of facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons with more than 2,600 members -- whose cosmetic reconstructive surgery focuses on the face, head and neck. Academy fellows are board-certified and subscribe to a code of ethics. In addition, the AAFPRS provides consumers with free information and brochures and a list of qualified facial plastic surgeons in their area.
